Presentation of the current development status of the master schedule to the Administrative Board
Christoph Niethammer, Managing Director of ProWST, presented the current status of the master schedule for the overall project to the Administrative Board of the Württemberg State Theatres.
The existing schedules from the State Capital of Stuttgart and the State of Baden-Württemberg, as well as the current framework schedules from the architects for the sub-projects 'Interim Venue' and 'Zuckerfabrik', were reviewed. This plausibility assessment was based on a detailed object plan. On this basis, a new master schedule for the overall project 'Renovation, Modernization, and Expansion of the Württemberg State Theatres' could be created.
Technical Excursion to Frankfurt for the Specialist Unit for Opera Renovation and Exhibition at the German Architecture Museum
We visited the exhibition 'Grand Opera – Much More Theatre?' at the German Architecture Museum (DAM Ostend), which focused on current European opera new builds. We leveraged this visit to engage in a professional exchange with the Future Staff Unit of Bühnen Frankfurt.

ProWST Team Excursion to the Urach Waterfalls
ProWST employees embarked on their inaugural team excursion to the Urach Waterfalls. After a three-hour hike over the Rutschenfelsen, past the Rohrauer Hütte, and the Gütesteiner Waterfalls, the day, following an extensive lunch, concluded with a city tour in Bad Urach.
ProWST Assumes Responsibility for Sub-Project 'Interim Venue on CI1' at the Wagenhallen in Stuttgart North
The 'Interim Venue' project is scheduled for transfer from the State Capital of Stuttgart to ProWST in summer 2024. We extend our gratitude to the Stuttgart Building Authority for facilitating a seamless transition and for having managed the tendering and commissioning of key specialist planners.
Assumption of Projects for the Decoration Workshops in Bad-Cannstatt and the Upper Palace Gardens in Stuttgart Mitte
ProWST will assume responsibility for the projects 'New Construction of Decoration Workshops for the Württemberg State Theatres' and 'Renovation and Modernization of the Upper Palace Gardens' from the state enterprise Vermögen und Bau Baden-Württemberg in spring 2024.
ProWST Occupies the Office Premises at Friedrichstraße 45
Following the handover of the office spaces at Friedrichstraße 45 to ProWST, minor interior fit-out works were completed. Subsequently, the furnishing and installation of IT equipment could proceed. By the beginning of the new year, the new premises were ready for occupancy by the initial staff members.
Commencement of the New Managing Director's Tenure at ProWST GmbH
Christoph Niethammer is appointed as the new Managing Director of Projektgesellschaft Württembergisches Staatstheater Stuttgart (ProWST).
Christoph Niethammer initially studied architecture at KIT Karlsruhe and ETH Zurich. After completing his degree, he moved to the USA, where he obtained a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University in New York.
As an architect, he planned and executed numerous construction projects for renowned architectural firms. These include cultural buildings in Salt Lake City, Hamburg, and Bremerhaven, as well as residential and commercial properties in New York, Berlin, and Hamburg. From 2013 to 2023, he oversaw – most recently as Managing Director – the development of mixed-use urban districts in Hamburg.
